Hitting a green in regulation (GIR) means you’re on the putting surface in two shots less than par on a hole. But GIR is based on a scratch golfer’s expected performance. So, if that’s not you, a much more useful benchmark of your game is “greens hit from inside 130 yards”.
GIR doesn’t give us the clearest picture of where your game could be improved. By narrowing the focus to greens hit from inside 130 yards, we get a much better idea of your approach and short game performance. That’s our port of call to improve your score and playing experience.
Achieve both benchmarks over an 18-hole round and you break 90. But, your benchmarks also tell us which area of your game has the biggest opportunity for improvement.
